Star Trek TOS S2 E7 Review

I was actually planning on reviewing two episodes today, but I'm still getting back into the swing of things, so it'll just be the one episode today. As for the episode itself, it's pretty weird, if I'm being totally honest. The episode I will be reviewing today is called Catspaw. This is what a lot of Star Trek fans call the Halloween episode, and honestly, it's pretty silly, as you can expect a Halloween episode of a 60s TV show would be. The idea of this episode involves Scotty, Sulu, and a redshirt going missing on the planet. The redshirt comes back dead, and whispers a creepy warning to not come to the planet because it's cursed and spoooooooky. So, naturally, Kirk, Spock, and McCoy beam down to the planet because, honestly, that is pretty weird, even in the world of Star Trek. When they get there, they find a spooky fog, a creepy castle, and even three ghostly witches who warn the trio about the supposed curse. I just have to point out this episode's ...

Star Trek TOS S2 E5 and 6 Review

Guess who's back? Back again? It's me, with two more Star Trek reviews! In honor of the release of the new season of Star Trek: Lower Decks, I have decided to start up my classic Trek reviews once again, and these ones are pretty interesting. The first episode I will be reviewing is called The Apple. Basically, it deals with Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, among others, beaming down to an Eden-like planet where a bunch of primitive people worship a computer called Vaal. It isn't a bad episode, per se, but if you've been keeping up with my reviews, then you'll know that this plot is more or less the same as a season one episode titled The Return of the Archons. Like I said, it's fine, but it feels to derivative of an episode I consider to be better. The other episode I will be reviewing is called The Doomsday Machine. This one is a lot darker in tone and is honestly one of my favorites. The Enterprise is sent to investigate the mysterious destruction of entire solar syst...

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

It's another day where I go back to the roots of what this blog was. Don't worry, a Dragon Quest II review is coming...eventually. It's a lot more complex than the first one so it'll take a bit. Regardless, here we are, with another video game movie review in the interim! The story behind this movie is that Dr. Robotnik, played once again by Jim Carrey, has found a way to return to Earth with the help of an echidna named Knuckles, voiced with perfection by Idris Elba. It's up to Sonic, voiced again by Ben Schwartz, and his new friend, a fox named Tails, voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey, to team up and stop the villains from reaching the Master Emerald, basically a weapon of mass destruction. The big takeaway from this film is it is bigger, darker, and it felt more like an adaptation of the games compared to the first one. Now, don't get me wrong. I love the original film, but getting to see more stuff from the game canon get interpreted into a movie was hone...

Star Trek TOS S2 E3 and 4 Review

After a day of working on other stuff, specifically playing through more of a game I should hopefully be reviewing soon, I have returned today to give you more reviews from the world of Star Trek. Both of these episodes are quite interesting, and I'd say they definitely have made their marks on the franchise. The first episode I will be reviewing is called The Changeling. The story focuses on the Enterprise encountering a mysterious...something in space that seemingly has wiped out all life on a planet they were going to and proceeds to attack the ship as well. Eventually, it ceases fire and is revealed to be a space probe called Nomad, which apparently has a directive to eradicate all carbon based life forms because they are flawed, by its reasoning. I really enjoyed getting to see how they ended up making this probe an effective villain, with it always seeming like it's just one wrong word away from vaporizing the entire ship, as shown when it wipes Uhura's memory just fo...
